Hawkeyes And Fans Are At A Loss

Today, Saturday, September 29th, 2007, the Hawkeyes were beaten by Illinois, and the players and their fans, are wondering if we can win ANY games this year. The fans ranged from heartbroken to angry, at the antics by the offense, and the only good words were for how well the defense did, until they just plain got worn out from being on the field so long.

Whoever was calling the plays for the Hawkeyes, must have a fetish for Boston College, and their former quarterback, Doug Flutie and his Hail Mary pass which saved the game for them. However Christensen is no Doug Flutie, and the Hawkeyes are no Boston College, so get the offensive coordinator to pull his head out and get back to some basic football plays. These are too inexperienced to try once in a lifetime plays, "every" play.

Iowa (2-3, 0-2) played added to its difficulties with penalties and breakdowns in pass protection. Jake Christensen passed for 308 yards and three TDs but was sacked nine times, with end Jammie Kirlew getting four of those sacks. The Hawkeyes also missed two field goals, including a straight-on 25-yarder, and an extra point. The haven't won a Big Ten game since beating Purdue 47-17 last Oct. 7.

Kellen Lewis threw two touchdown passes and was officially credited with a third when he ran 71 yards after picking up a teammate's fumble, leading Indiana to a 38-20 victory over Iowa on Saturday.

Next week it is on to Penn State, and a tough team, Perhaps, the coaches will use this week to try and come up with some realistic plays to move the ball down the field, because the defense cannot win the game by itself!! Good Luck!!

Sad End In Myanmar

It looks like only bad things are coming from the protests by Buddhist monks and their supporters in Myanmar.

Soldiers and police took control of the streets Friday, firing warning shots and tear gas to scatter the few pro-democracy protesters who ventured out as Myanmar's military junta sealed off Buddhist monasteries and cut public Internet access. On the third day of a harsh government crackdown, the streets were empty of the mass gatherings that had peacefully challenged the regime daily for nearly two weeks, leaving only small groups of activists to be chased around by security forces.

We hope that the United Nations and the United States will be able to assist the poor innocents in Myanmar, as they strive to regain their "democracy', from the military that has again Killed their own citizens to stay in power!

U.N. Should Step In On Myanmar Crisis

The other day as President Bush addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations, he actually made comments about his situation and nearly "pleaded" with the Assembly to take action on events occurring in Myanmar (formerly Burma). He got it right and this is just the type of thing that the United Nations should step in and handle. It should have moved sooner in Darfur, Ethiopia, and many other places where innocents are being attacked by "terrorist" government oppression. I would actualy support the United Nations in a limited way, if it actually did something "good" in a nation like Myanmar.

Soldiers with automatic rifles fired into crowds of anti-government demonstrators Thursday, killing at least nine people in the bloodiest day in more than a month of protests demanding an end to military rule. On the second day of a brutal crackdown, truckloads of troops in riot gear also raided Buddhist monasteries on the outskirts of Yangon, beating and arresting dozens of monks, witnesses and Western diplomats said. Japan protested the killing of a Japanese photographer.

May the press keep the images coming, and may we as a people make sure that we want to have the United States in conjunction with the United Nations to resolve this terrible repression on monks and other innocents! Call your congressman, senators, and the White House and give them your thoughts on keeping up the pressure on the Myanmar government! Thanks!

Troops Not Coming Home Anytime Soon

In a story unfolding this evening it is clear that no one is going to bring the Troops home anytime soon!

The leading Democratic White House hopefuls conceded Wednesday night they cannot guarantee to pull all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the end of the next presidential term in 2013.The opening question of the debate, the seventh involving the Democratic White House hopefuls, instantly plunged the eight contenders into the issue that has dominated all others, the war in Iraq.

This is the hell of it, and our troops shall continue to die for an Iraqi government that refuses to govern, and that is the sad truth of this mess. Please Pray for our men and women in Harm's Way!

Anna Nicoles Sons Inquest

What will this new story bring in the sad saga of Anna Nicole Smith bring?

The long-awaited inquest in the Bahamas into the death of the son of former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith will begin on October 30, and could last two months, a senior judge in the Bahamas said on Monday. Bahamas Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez said at least 35 witnesses were expected to give evidence, including Smith's longtime lawyer and companion, Howard K. Stern. The inquest would be conducted by Magistrate William Campbell, he added.

Two people are dead and yet other than "strange" entertainment, there has been no resolution of this affair??!!Will we ever know the truth???

MBA Ranchers

I was looking through stories and found this quaint and interesting story of the "old" west!

Once upon a time, in the Wild West, all it took to raise cattle was land, grass and cowboys who knew how to rope the critters. Now, it may take an MBA. Texas A&M-Kingsville's Institute for Ranch Management is offering what university officials call the first ever masters degree program for ranchers, sort of a Harvard Business School for cowboys. In addition to graduate-level business courses, students are schooled in rangeland specialties, including animal nutrition and wildlife management.

Best of luck to the "cowboys" headed for their MBA's instead of "range wars" of old!!!

FASCINATING STORY!! YIPPEE KIY YEAH!!

Uncool Person Ahmadinejad Heading To Columbia

In a story of an uncool person of the week, I bring you Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He heads a government that provides material support for the terrorist/insurgents who are killing our American and Allied Troops In Iraq and Afghanistan. He denies that the Holacaust happened and has said that the state of Israel should "never exist in the pages of history". He held a cartoon festival in Iran to make fun of Jews, and supports the continued nuclear program that has brought the ire of many nations in the world, down upon Iran, by way of sanctions and perhaps "more" serious actions if they do not stop!

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in New York to protests Sunday and said in a television interview that Iran was neither building a nuclear bomb nor headed to war with the United States. The president's motorcade pulled up to the midtown hotel where he will be staying while he appears at a series of events including the U.N. General Assembly and a forum at Columbia University, where about 40 elected officials and civic leaders decried his visit.

It is Columbia's "right" to allow him to speak, but for Ahmadinejad, it is nothing more than a propoganda forum, to show his people back home, just how Important he is! I hope that the Columbia alumni shows the University just how much "they" believe in free speech, by cutting all of their donations to the University and redirecting it to an institution that does not kowtow to "evil" men like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!!

If good men do nothing when evil rears its' head, then evil will win. This is supposedly, "just" a speech, but evil takes every opportunity it gets to spread its' ideas, and this is what is happening at Columbia!! No amount of tap dancing by the Columbia faculty gets past that essential Truth!!

Cool Person Ken Burns And The War

In a return to our "coolest" people segment, we have a gentleman who has given us entertainment and history in equal doses, and we didn't even know we were learning something. If you are like me you not only watched his series on the Civil War, you probably own it as well, so you can keep watching your favorite parts.

He is Ken Burns and this is his project beginning this evening.

The War," the latest epic documentary from Ken Burns and company, takes some 15 hours to tell the story of WWII - and it's well worth the time. Like his "The Civil War," which PBS presented 17 years ago to the minute, "The War" has the potential to be a national TV event, focusing our attention on a topic that others have mined before, but never in quite the same way.

I look forward to the next 15 hours of entertainment and learning and know that it will amuse, teach, tear at our hearts, and leave us wanting to know more and to go out and thank the first veteran that we see!!

See you on the other side of this series and please let me know what you think about it!! Thanks!

Hawkeyes Look GOOD In Loss

Alright the University of Iowa Hawkeyes lost this evening, but I was very impressed with how well this young team played, and I think we shall have a good year this year, and an excellent team next year. We are going to beat Indiana next week for homecoming, and will have other wins, and perhaps some stunners.

No. 9 Wisconsin needed a fourth-quarter rally to avoid an upset bid by Iowa, turning to P.J. Hill for the go-ahead score in a 17-13 victory Saturday night. Nothing came easy for the Badgers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten), who gradually overcame a stingy Hawkeyes defense to extend their winning streak to 13 games — the longest active streak in major college football.

Wisconsin was given one touchdown by the officials and lucked out when a flag should have been thrown in the 4th quarter, but was not!

Congratulations to these freshman who took to the field and made a fine showing against Wisconsin!! Keep up the spirit and the fight will be yours next week!!

Happy Homecoming!!

Blackwater Mercs In Trouble

After another series of computer problems I am able to do some modest posting and am hoping my Acer is back by week's end.

There is so much going on in the news, from O.J. to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's upcoming speaking engagement at Columbia University, that it is tough to be missing out on so much commenting.

In a very distrubing story that is unfolding over the latter part of this week , it seems that our "Hessians" have attacked civilians unprovoked. It also seems that we haev paid this company over $800 millions dollars for a mission that should be done by our own troops, or not done at all.

Iraqi investigators have a videotape that shows Blackwater USA guards opened fire against civilians without provocation in a shooting last week that left 11 people dead, a senior Iraqi official said Saturday. He said the case was referred to the Iraqi judiciary. Iraq's president, meanwhile, demanded that the Americans release an Iranian arrested this week on suspicion of smuggling weapons to Shiite militias. The demand adds new strains to U.S.-Iraqi relations only days before a meeting between President Bush and Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

There needs to be a thorough "Real" investigation and prosecution if the story is true, and we need to stop outsourcing this war. Either "We" should be fighting it or we need to find another way.

I have an idea which I will flesh out more this week...I may have found a way to solve our troop problems as well as our illegal immigration crisis!!

Kerrys Tazer On Fun

LMAO at this Kerry event, hope you enjoy it as well!!

Video of police Tasering a persistent questioner of Sen. John Kerry became an Internet and TV sensation Tuesday, generating fierce debate about free speech and the motives of the college student involved — a known prankster who often posts practical jokes online. University of Florida President Bernie Machen said Monday's takedown, in which the student loudly yelled, "Don't Tase me, bro!" was "regretful." He asked for a state probe of campus police actions and placed two officers on leave.

This is how dissent is handled in the "democratic" process!! So much "police" state fun, I don't know anything other than I laughed so hard I nearly p##D my p###s!! :)!! Swift boated by a "metard"!!

Mr. Kerry, I know comedians, and "your" no comedian, but thanks for the attempt!!

Israel Supports Detainees Rights

In a "weird" story it seems that one of the only "democracies" in the Middle East, Israel, is coming in as a friend of the court for the detainees at Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility.

With the U.S. Supreme Court set to take up Guantanamo detention policy again when its new term begins next month, the justices have received some unusual advice from a friendly corner of the war-torn Middle East. Israeli lawyers and military law experts have filed a brief that supports detainees in their quest for the right to have their cases heard in American courts. The Israeli lawyers argue that the Bush administration is making a mistake by trying to prevent the suspected terrorists being held at Guantanamo from filing cases in regular civilian or military U.S. courts.

Perhaps we should rethink our policies toward detainees, because if a country such as Israel, that is under constant daily threat of terrorism, can give these people "rights", it looks like we can take the "chance" as well in my estimation!

I would like to hear if you agree with Israel's position, or the United States current "no rights' position!! Thanks!

Blackwater In Iraq

in a very interesting developement over the last few days, we have gone from hearing that the mercenary company, Blackwater was going to be kicked out of Iraq, to the story today which backs away from that position.

The United States on Tuesday suspended all land travel by U.S. diplomats and other civilian officials in Iraq outside Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone, amid mounting public outrage over the alleged killing of civilians by the U.S. Embassy's security provider Blackwater USA. The move came even as the Iraqi government appeared to back down from statements Monday that it had permanently revoked Blackwater's license and would order its 1,000 personnel to leave the country, depriving American diplomats of security protection essential to operating in Baghdad.

There needs to be better accountability for these companies, and why are they being used anyway, when our military could provide this level of protection for a tenth the cost! There should be an investigation into Blackwater and Haliburton and anyone else who is getting rich off of our tax dollars, when they take traditional jobs provided by the military, and the military personnel in those M.O.S.'s (Jobs) have nothing to do. Sounds like someone is profiteering at all of our expense, and actions should be taken immediately to correct this unethical activity!

O.J. Update

I am so upset that I am having so many computer issues and could not write anything until tonight! In what has to be Karmic Justice it looks like O.J. may actually receive justice and Go TO Jail!!!!

News conferences, a slew of felony charges, a perp walk in handcuffs and detention in a holding cell without bail — it's clear authorities aren't giving O.J. Simpson any celebrity breaks. Police insist such treatment is prudent for a man whose name is synonymous with a slow-speed chase from officers in a white Ford Bronco. But legal experts are questioning whether Simpson is being singled out for extra-tough prosecution in his casino-hotel robbery case as payback for his murder acquittal more than a decade ago.

May the Prosecution get it right this time, and put this "monster" away once and for all!!

al-Qaeda Backlash?

Did the assassins of Adbul-Sattar Abu Risha, turn the tide against al-Qaeda operatives in Iraq?

Some 1,500 mourners called for revenge Friday as they buried the leader of the Sunni revolt against al-Qaeda, who was assassinated by a bomb after meeting with President Bush earlier this month. An al-Qaeda front in Iraq claimed responsibility for the blast that killed Adbul-Sattar Abu Risha, 37, and three companions. A statement posted on the Internet by the Islamic State of Iraq called Abu Risha "one of the dogs of Bush" and described Thursday's killing as a "heroic operation that took over a month to prepare."

This could be the proverbial "straw that broke the camels back", as al-Qaeda has caused thousands of deaths since the beginning of the insurgency and they may have over-stepped their bounds by killing this sheik.

I am not sure how this will work out for the people in this region of Iraq, but the foundation of revenge attacks against al-Qaeda have been sown and only time will tell whether that is good or bad for Iraqi's and for our troops, who are stuck in the middle of this violence!

Armed Robbery For O.J.?

What the hell is O.J. Simpson up to now? In the story below he is a suspect in an armed robbery in Las Vegas.

O.J. Simpson says he only went into a casino hotel room to retrieve memorabilia that he felt was stolen from him. But police are investigating it as an armed robbery and named the fallen football star as a suspect Friday in yet another surprising chapter to his legal saga. In an interview with The Associated Press, Simpson insisted there were no guns involved and he only went to the room at the Palace Station casino to retrieve stolen mementos that included his Hall of Fame certificate and a picture of the running back with J. Edgar Hoover.

It should be very interesting to see how this turns out for O.J., but perhaps he has fallen on such hard times, that we will have to tell our school children to be careful, that he doesn't steal their lunch money!!

More Computer Problems

I just wanted everyone to know that my posts will be rare for awhile. I have a bent pin inside my wifi adapter port and had to have the Geek Sqaud send it away to their service center, so i will only be able to post from home, and that old computer is sporadic at best, and I am usually away 13 to 15 hours and 18 friday as I have to leave at 7a.m. and drive to Ankeny to pick up some Movie Poster Prints, before working the rest of the day.

Take care and I shall post as soon as possible. Thank You!!

Honoring 9/11 Victims

The "cool" person of the week segment will return next week as we honor the memories of the victim's and heroes of 9/11.

If actions speak louder than elegy, it tells you where we are that the team coverage on the eve of the 6th anniversary of 9/11 alternated between General Petraeus' performance on Capitol Hill and Britney Spears' performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Osama returned to prime time, only to be mocked for his "impotence" and apparent need for Grecian Formula. A New Jersey community that lost 100 people that day has had to delay expansion of its memorial because fundraising fell short. September 11 falls once again on a Tuesday, we are six years away from the fire, and wondering what that means.

There is much being made of a USA Today poll that shows that many people are forgetting about 9/11 and its aftermath. I think that is not the case, but the truth is we as humans, do move on after tragedies. I have lost all of my grandparents, and my parents, and as each of them died I thought I would too, but it didn't happen, and I moved on. I do not dwell on their deaths everyday, but they are in my thoughts on occasion, and I feel sad for a while, and then it is back to the present. I feel great grief for these families as their dear ones died without notice and in such a horrendous way, that I am sure it makes coping that much harder.

Perhaps some people will forget, but there are many of us who will live our lives, with their memories quietly in the background of our own lives, and we shall live for them, so they can be assured we remember them. God Bless and Rest In Peace!!

Where Is Fossett?

What has happened to Adventurer Steve Fossett, is the question that many are asking as nearly a week has gone by since his plane "went" down.

There has been closure for several families that could have never come up with the kind of resources that are being used to look for Fossett.

Rescue crews searching for famed millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett stumbled upon more false leads Sunday when they discovered more plane wreckage, but didn't find the missing aviator or his plane. Rescue crews spotted two old wrecks, one of them from a U.S. Navy plane, southeast of the private ranch where Fossett was staying 80 miles southeast of Reno when he took off Monday for what was supposed to be a three-hour flight.

He was a Great Adventurer, who "luckily" survived many close calls and crashes, in his many flights around the world.

Perhaps the legacy of Steve Fossett, whether he is now alive or not, will be how the "search" for him was a Godsend, for so many families, that never knew what happened to their loved ones. If this is the case, then surely Steve is on the side of the "angels", and we can say a final thank you for his last "adventure"!

Led Zeppelins Threat To Reunite Is True

In a terror laden story that I finished reading, it seems that Led Zeppelin will reunite, perhaps as early as November 2, 2007 in London. Their tour of terror has not been announced past that potential date.

Perhaps this announcement was made in "concert" with Osama bin-Laden's tape as a real strike instead of perceived one to put fear into our hearts, and in this case It has succeeded.

Please do not misunderstand me, I love Rock n' Roll, emphasis on the Rock, even Heavy and Alternative Rock, but their brand of "hour and a half" singles makes me want to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger! I know Zeppelin fans are hoping I pull that trigger!! LOL!! I even like Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in some of their other band "incarnations", but please God, not as Led Zeppelin, a band with only One Good song, Stairway to Heaven. I did not write anything about this John Paul Jones guy, as I don't know if he did anything other than Zeppelin.

Now I know die hard Zeppelin fans are cursing me, but I only can ask, "Are you really that baked", that you can sit through their songs (except Stairway to Heaven of course), more than once?

I like all kinds of Rock music, with a preference for anything new or newer, i.e. Disturbed, Papa Roach, Incubus, Finger Eleven, Freak Label, etc., and older bands like Metallica, Danzig, Pantera, KISS, Heart, Black Sabbath, Ozzy on his own, Ronny James Dio, etc., but God Help Us From Hearing anymore Led Zeppelin's, interminably long songs..I am gritting my teeth just thinking about it!?!!!

Please no more "terrorist" acts on our senses and mental stability..

I am hoping that this was a trick "terrorist" story and it will all be cleared up tomorrow, and they shall remain happily separate; or "happy" for me anyway!!

Have a "terror" free Weekend!!

State of America Email I Received

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT NOT OUR SOCIETY. IF I OFFENDED ANYONE BY THIS, I REALLY DON'T APOLOGIZE.

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at
Roane County High School ,
Kingston , Tennessee ,
by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate lifestyle," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it enlightenment."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical .
Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless, as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical...
I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston, Tennessee remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER."

If you are not ashamed, pass this on .

I went to several websites to see if this email was an urban legend and found it to be true. It occurred September 1, 2000, was delivered before the start of a Roane County football game!!
Have a Great Weekend!

New Developments In Madeline McCann Case

There have been reports that the parents of little Madeline McCann were involved in her disappearance and now they have been more developments.

It seems that the British couple named as suspects in the disappearance of their 4-year-old daughter are eager to leave Portugal, a family friend said Saturday. The girl's uncle, defending the parents, called on police to reveal any evidence against them. Gerry McCann, 4-year-old Madeleine's father, said he and his wife expected clarification of their legal status within 48 hours, according to the friend, Clarence Mitchell. Their lawyer said late Friday that police had declared the parents suspects in the May 3 disappearance.

I think everyone that has followed this case up until a few days ago, were convinced that these people were innocent and now it has gotten so very confusing. I thought that it was the guy who lived nearby the hotel, but his involvement seems to have waned as new evidence shows trace amounts of Madeline's blood in an auto that was not rented until 25 days after her disappearance.

This next week should bring about a dramatic conclusion to this case as the police have offered Mrs. McCann a plea agreement of just two years in jail if she confesses and tells all.

May Justice be done and allow the case of Madeline to have closure.

Update On bin-Laden Tape

In a update of our earlier story about Osama bin-Ladens lastest tape, it would seem that he has become delusional from all of the time hiding in his cave.

In a transcript obtained by ABC News, Osama bin-Laden appearing for the first time in three years in a videotape Friday released ahead of the 6th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, tells Americans they should convert to Islam if they want the war in Iraq to end. The tape runs 30 minutes and makes mention of the election of Sarkozy in France last May.

It will be interesting to see the tape when it is released, but merely for news value, as apparently his reference to the French elections indicate that he is "still" alive, and this isn't a tape made long ago. Perhaps there will be clues as to his "whereabouts" more so than in previous tapes.

tape

Boogeyman bin-Ladens Back

He's Back!! There is a new tape being released by Osama bin-Laden on the eve of 9/11. This boogey-man is surely trying to make sure that we know he is still waiting to attack us once more. Did you see the still photo? Whoever did the coloring job on his beard should be beheaded, or perhaps he used grecian formula, but it looks hilarious. One news report even said that he was "photoshopped", I guess that is just where the photo is "corrected" by computer to look the way you want.

Anyway, the United States government has obtained a copy of a purported new videotape of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin-Laden and is studying it, U.S. officials said on Friday. An Islamist Web site said earlier on Friday it would soon show a new video of bin-Laden, the first in nearly three years, to mark the sixth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the United States.

I was wondering today what kind of an idiot who is worth millions, albeit through his family, and chooses to hide in a cave in the remotest region of Pakistan/Afghanistan, and plots the demise of the West, and the United States in particular. What a sad, pathetic, little man he is, and all this time he could have been using his money and influence for the benefit of Muslims, instead of causing their deaths.

The other day I was a little paranoid for our country on this anniversary of 9/11, but after seeing that photo, I am not. We mostly go about our daily lives in relative peace, and this piece of dung, hides from the world, all the while knowing that there is a huge bounty on his head if he even peaks his head out of the ground, like a gopher. Who should be more afraid, him or us? My conclusion is bin-Laden should be more afraid, after all he is not even man enough to commit the murders he plans. So much for his true belief in jihad. He sends young boys and girls to die for his twisted soul.

It is only going to take one "lucky" or brave soul to put a bullet through his temple, and end his, miserable life on this plane, thus allowing him to move onto hell, where things will get Really interesting.

bin-Laden, I dare you to stick your head out of your hole, where you will not only see your shadow, but the end of your existence, and sooner than you think!

For the memories of all 9/11 victims, I offer my condolences, my remembrance, and my prayers! Rest In Peace!

Bombers Trying To Hit Europe

Just days before the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the United States, European security forces in Germany and Denmark uncovered two terrorist cells that officials said Wednesday were planning massive attacks even more deadly than the bombings in Madrid and London.

For many Europeans, the threat of a major terrorist attack still does not seem an imminent danger. But the round of arrests this week shows that terrorist cells with links to al-Qaeda are stepping up activity in Europe, and that increasingly, the plotters are European-born.

So the clock continues ticking away, as we hold our collective breaths, in anticipation of an attack of some sort occuring on the 9/11 anniversary, so that the terrorists can remind us that they are still not done with us. It sounds like "officially" there is no threat level elevation, but surely there is something in the works, even if they cannot put a finger on a specific plot at the moment.

I was very impressed with this story, and how well the Germans and the Danes, were able to uncover these plots, and stop them with time to spare. Good Job!

I hope that as this deadly anniversary comes and goes, we can all be a little more cautious about where we go, i.e. not being around big crowds of people, and perhaps be wary of unusual or suspicious activities around us, and report them if you see any.

Sorry, not trying to be too paranoid, certainly I am going to be a little more cautious than usual as this anniversary gets here.

GAO Disses Iraq On Benchmarks

In a story that totally "surprises" me and "everyone" else ?, the G.A.O. reports that Baghdad has not met 11 of its 18 political and security goals, according to a new independent report on Iraq that challenges President Bush's assessment on the war, The Associated Press has learned. The study, conducted by the Government Accountability Office, was slightly more upbeat than initially planned. After receiving substantial pushback from the White House, the GAO determined that four benchmarks, instead of two, had been partially met.

It is too late to expect anything but bad news to issue from the war in Iraq, as our young men and women continue to fight and die for "nothing'!!

We Are Unique

In one of the most interesting stories of the day, there is now evidence that people are less alike than scientists had thought when it comes to the billions of building blocks that make up each individual's DNA, according to a new analysis. "Instead of 99.9 percent identical, maybe we're only 99 percent (alike)," said J. Craig Venter, an author of the study, and the person whose DNA was analyzed for it.

I guess we are the snowflakes of the human species, and are unique in our own ways.Cool!

Cool 15 Year Old Goes To College

Thought we would start the week out with a cool person of the week story from now on. This first cool person is a girl heading to college.

Brittney Exline is too young to vote, drive a car or go to an R-rated movie, but at the age of just 15 she is beginning her Ivy League career Wednesday when classes start at the University of Pennsylvania. She said she doesn't really notice the age gap between herself and her 17- and 18-year-old peers, and neither do they.

Hopefully, she will have fun in college, excells in everything she does, and finds a career that benefits her and the country as a whole. Good Luck!!

If you have any cool person stories you would like to send please send them to me at danielcarvelkepler@yahoo.com.

Thanks and have a Great Labor Day!!

Is Ahmadinejad Cheneys Puppet

My question today is, does President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad work for Vice-President Dick Cheney, or is he having a bad reacion to Prosac, because he has definitely put his country on a direct, War with America course. Each and every day, and each and every statement this idiot utters brings his country closer to having B-2's and cruise missiles raining down on his country

President Ahmadinejad, Iran's president claimed Sunday that his country is now running 3,000 centrifuges to enrich uranium for its nuclear program, reaching an Iranian goal that could add momentum to efforts to impose new U.N. sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

I do not know if he is working undercover for the CIA or some other agency, but he is making it a certainty that we will attack Iran before the 2008 elections!!

ASU Beats Michigan

In one more sports related story, before we get back to politics and bloodshed. I wanted to say what an amazing David versus Goliath feat occurred Saturday against Michigan.

In a stunner for the ages, Appalachian State University, courtesy of a 34-32 come-from-behind thriller, became the first team from what was formerly known as Division I-AA, to ever beat a ranked I-A team.

And this wasn't just any team they beat, either. No. 5 Michigan is an historic power boasting three Heisman Trophy candidates, national title dreams and playing in front of 109,000-plus fans in its cavernous home stadium.

It is a wonderful story for anyone, even if you are not particularly a sports fan to see such an against all odds (actually no odds, as the spread was supposed to be so great that Las Vegas sports bookies didn't even offer a betting line)outcome, showing what you can accomplish if you believe in yourself and never quit!!

Congratulations to the players and coach of Appalachian State, as the game will be talked about for along time to come, and they will always have their memories of this monumental victory!!

Hawkeyes WIN 16-3

Congratulations to Coach Ferentz and the Hawkeye team. May this winning start continue!! HOORAY!!!

Albert Young gave Iowa some good news. The senior ran for 144 yards and a touchdown to lead the Hawkeyes to a 16-3 victory over Northern Iillinois in the season opener at Soldier Field on Saturday.

With the memories of a 6-7 season still lingering, Iowa took another hit when leading receiver Dominique Douglas and backup Anthony Bowman were suspended indefinitely for their role in a credit card scandal two weeks ago.

Hopefully, everything will be resolved and the team well go on stronger than ever. Best of Luck!! And Again HOORAY!! Go Hawks!!

September 1 Iraqi Deaths Update

This is a post to update the number of United States military and Iraqi civilian deaths and the current circumstances on the ground as of the 1st day of September, 2007.

Civilian deaths rose in August to their second-highest monthly level this year, according to figures compiled Saturday by The Associated Press. That raises questions about whether U.S. strategy is working days before Congress receives landmark reports that will decide the course of the war.

Figures compiled by the Associated Press from police reports nationwide show that at least 1,809 civilians were killed across the country last month compared with 1,760 in July. That brings to 27,564 the number of Iraqi civilians killed since Associated Press began collecting data on April 28, 2005.

As of Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at least 3,737 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 3,061 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

Sadly, the deaths continue unabated, despite the "success" of the surge, and there looks to be many more deaths to come as we continue to bring "democracy" to Iraq.

Sad Update On Utah Mine Search

In a sad change of direction is less than a week, it is being reported that the search for the Utah coal miners is being suspended. This just days after promises were given to the families that the search would go on until the miners were found.

For nearly four weeks a mining community in central Utah held out hope that six men trapped in a coal mine cave-in would be found alive. That hope is gone now that federal mine officials have suspended the search for the men.

How devastating to the families. They haven't even finished checking all of the holes, but the robot camera somehow got stuck some 50 ft. from the top of hole four, and that is when they decided to end the search.

These poor families have been jerked one way and then another throughout this ordeal, and they deserve more respect than these officials are giving them. We can only hope that they reconsider this a second time, because just drilling holes and checking is not endangering anymore lives, it is merely costing more money, and that may be the true cause of the suspension. How sad that money, is always more important than the lives of miners, or peace of mind and closer for the families.

A very sad update indeed!

CRAIG RESIGNS

In a story just a few minutes ago, it has become official, and Idaho Senator Larry Craig resigned Saturday over a men's room sex sting, bowing to pressure from fellow Republicans worried about a scandal dimming their election prospects. Craig's resignation completed a stunning downfall that began Monday with the disclosure that he had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge following his arrest during a sex sting in a Minneapolis airport men's room.

Let this be a lesson to other politicians, who are preaching and making policy one way, and acting the opposite way in their own lives. It is just like the parent that says "do as I say, not as I do", and we are done putting up with it!

The only losers in this sad situation that really matter are this "man's" wife and children, who I feel bad for, and hope they can move on to a better life, with support from their family and friends.
