FBI Deputizes Private Contractors With Extraordinary Powers

I found this very interesting story in my mail and puts a different perspective on many of our nations security activities, prior to, and after 9/11, when George Bush "knocked" down the twin towers and started us on our way to war, and homeland "security". Sorry that last comment was meant sarcastically, as I heard another "hollywood person" "Charlie Sheen", saying this on television the other evening (though it could have been a re-run of an earlier interview), and thought how sad it was that people would believe our President, even this "one" would be despicable enough to kill his "own" citizens to advance his agenda.

Anyway the crux of the story is that:
Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does -- and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to "shoot to kill" in the event of martial law. InfraGard is "a child of the FBI," says Michael Hershman, the chairman of the advisory board of the InfraGard National Members Alliance and CEO of the Fairfax Group, an international consulting firm.

InfraGard started in Cleveland back in 1996, when the private sector there cooperated with the FBI to investigate cyber threats. InfraGard itself is still an FBI operation, with FBI agents in each state overseeing the local InfraGard chapters. (There are now eighty-six of them.) The alliance is a nonprofit organization of private sector InfraGard members.

In November 2001, InfraGard had around 1,700 members. As of late January, InfraGard had 23,682 members, according to its website, www.infragard.net, which adds that "350 of our nation's Fortune 500 have a representative in InfraGard."

I hope you have the time to go to the link and read the whole article as it was very informative!! Have A Great Weekend, and try and stay safe and warm!!

FBI Knew Of O.J.s Plan

There is a story tonight in regard to O.J. Simpson, and if true may allow this slimey creep from meeting justice once again!

Federal agents learned three weeks in advance that O.J. Simpson and a memorabilia dealer planned an operation to retrieve personal items Simpson said were stolen from him, according to FBI reports obtained Friday by The Associated Press. Dealer Thomas Riccio said he reported to the FBI a collector who claimed to have belongings taken from Simpson.

Please God, make it alright, so that with so many "friends" turning on him, O.J. can experience the inside of a prison, where he should have been for the past few years!!

Jefferson's FBI Raid Unconstitutional

Did anyone else see this little tidbit of interesting news about the United States Federal Appeals Court ruling against the FBI and in favor of Representative William Jefferson.

The ruling is that the FBI violated the Constitution when agents raided U.S. Rep. William Jefferson’s office last year and viewed legislative documents, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.

Even though the ruling is against the seizure of documents from his office the Justice Department asserts that it did not use those documents in preparing their case against Representative Jefferson on bribery charges.
It would seem that Representative Jefferson is one of our more "ethically" challenged United States Congressmen, after the FBI seized some $90,000 in cash from his home freezer. Talk about Cold Hard Cash!!

The Congressman is accused of taking bribes in regard to businesses he was hooking up with African contacts, through his Congressional office. It should be an interesting case as it makes it way through the courts. Meanwhile, he was re-elected and is still in Congress.
