Vick Sentenced To 23 Months
In a update to a story we have covered in the past on disgraced U.S. football star Michael Vick, who had plead guilty for his role in an illegal dogfighting enterprise, was sentenced on Monday to 23 months in prison.
U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson handed down the sentence to Vick, 27, who voluntarily began serving his prison term three weeks ago.
Hopefully, Mr. Vick will also receive psychiatric help, because to be able to be as brutal and cruel to those dogs indicates to me that he has some serious mental disturbance. This should also show, up and coming young men, what NOT to do with their lives. In another hopeful note, most of the dogs were deemed adoptable, and are going to have good homes to live in.

Michael Vick Update Enters Jail
Is Michael Vick trying to lessen his sentence by making a good show of being contrite? In a news story just now being reported, Michael Vick has turned himself into to the U.S. Marshalls Service in order to begin serving his expected jail term, according to report by the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Monday.
Vick surrendered to get a head start on serving whatever sentence he receives on December 10 for pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges.
According to the report, Vick was transported from the U.S. Courthouse downtown to one of the regional jails where federal prisoners are housed.
It shall be interesting to follow this story, and see if his strategy of early incarceration works for him. I think what he did was cruel and evil, but I will also be one to see him come out better, if he is truly a changed man inside. Time will be the only true arbiter of his fate, but perhaps this first step will help him, and show those young men who worshipped him, what will happen if you break the law, and may change their lives for the better right now!

Vick IS A Liar And Dog Killer
In one of the worst, "I just got arrested and am going to jail" moments inrecent history Michael Vick invoked the name of "Jesus" to make everything alright.
First, Michael Vick apologized to all the people he lied to. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank. Coach Bobby Petrino. His teammates. "I was not honest and forthright in our discussions," the star quarterback said Monday, somber and deliberate and not speaking from notes. Then he apologized to "all the young kids out there for my immature acts.". "I need to grow up," he added.
He later said that he had "found" Jesus, and even though I wanted to throw up, I continued to listen to listen to this Dog Killer as he went on and on to hit every "defense" attorney talking point to try and get a better sentence!! I hope that he not only gets a tough Federal sentence, but I hope that Virginia and the IRS go after this "man'. He needs to be made an example of! And the example would be that no matter who you are, you will be punished if you do such "heinous" acts, EVEN if it is just to animals!!

Nix The Vick Deal
In a story at MSNBC.com it says that when Michael Vick pleads guilty to dogfighting charges on Monday, he reportedly won't admit any guilt to killing dogs or gambling on dogfighting as detailed in his federal indictment, ESPN reported Thursday. The ex-Atlanta Falcons quarterback will admit to one count of interstate commerce for the purpose of taking dogs across state lines for dogfighting.
This is a travesty and the prosecutor's should nix the deal and take this scumbag to court and try him on all the charges they can pile on him. His "friends" are willing to testify that he took part in the brutal abuse and killings of the underperforming dogs and he should have to admit that he did it or there should be no deal.
I used to think that he was a talented athlete, but there is definitely something evil inside this man, that would allow him to treat animals in such a vicious way, and even though he is taking a plea deal, I bet in his twisted mind, he doesn't think he did anything "wrong" and probably cannot believe all the fuss over a "few" dogs, from the rest of us.

Update On Michael Vick
Two of Michael Vick's co-defendants have entered plea agreements and admit that Vick helped them hang and drown underperforming dogs.
Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach and Quanis Phillips, 28, of Atlanta entered plea agreements and joined defendant Tony Taylor of Hampton, who struck a similar deal last month. The agreements require the three to cooperate in the government's case against Vick.
This leaves Michael Vick to seek his own plea agreement, or face all three of these men in court, and they shall testify against him as part of their plea agreements. Mr. Vick is in serious trouble and faces not only prison, but the end of his NFL career. The story keeps getting more grisly by the day, and if he did what his co-defendants are saying, then he does not deserve a deal, and should sit in prison for a good long time. It is disgusting and sickening that men would abuse animals in this fashion, and it is to bad these "men" cannot be treated in a similar manner.

Michael Vick Is Headed To Court
The case of Michael Vick is extremely disturbing whether he is guilty or not, as it shows that terrible abuses of animals are still occurring in our 21st century politically correct society.
The facts of the case indicate that either he knew nothing about what was happening at his home, or he knew everything that was going on. There is no grey area in this case and if found guilty he could spend 6 or more years in prison, and could have charges of tax evasion, etc., piled on to the other crimes, as there would have been illegal gambling occurring, and income that was not disclosed to the IRS.
The Atlanta Falcons quarterback was expected to appear at a bond hearing and enter a plea on dogfighting conspiracy charges. Vick is accused with three others of conspiracy involving competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting, and conducting the enterprise across state lines. Federal prosecutors allege the operation, known as Bad Newz Kennels, operated on Vick’s property in rural Surry County
This will obviously receive alot of coverage, and I hope that The ever media grabbing attention getters, Reverends Jackson and Sharpe, do not try and turn this into a racial case as they do everything else that involves an african american, and the legal system. This case should only be about whether he is guilty or not and leave the racial component out of it.
So far the photos that they have shown of the animals and the aftermath of dogfighting are disgusting, this is a barbaric "sport", and all who participate in it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
