A Day in The Life Of An Illegal

The reality of life as an illegal alien in this country can be seen in this story which shows how Life is harsh for the 4,000 migrant workers who live in the Desert Mobile Home Park, where hundreds of dilapidated dwellings sit along dirt streets. The 110-degree air is thick with large black flies and the stench of raw sewage. Wild dogs prowl the alleys.

Border Enforcement Is WORKING

Could it be that our politicians have been disingenuous with us on one of the most important issues facing this country. I refer to illegal immigration and the fact that from President Bush to Senator's McCain, Reid, Kennedy, et al, there assertion that nothing could be done to stop the influx of illegals and therefore we should give them amnesty, is being shown to be wrong. As you can see from the following story being reported today, that with stepped up enforcement of CURRENT Laws, and strict policing of the border, the number of illegals entering the country is dropping.

The politicians were having too much fun playing politics with this important issue and I hope it comes back to bite them in the next election. We will remind people from time to time where each of the major Senators and Congressmen stood on this issue and perhaps we can force them from office. First to go should be Senator's McCain and Reid. Senator McCain for calling everyone a racist who wasn't for his bill and his whining as it went down to defeat, and Senator Reid for thinking it would be a bonanza for the Democratic party as they would mostly chooset their party affiliation. Also we need to vote out Speaker of the House Pelosi for the same sorry reason, in addition to the active support of the al-Qaeda party by her and Reid. Obviously, Senator Kennedy is safe as they don't actually vote anymore, they merely coronate him as Senator for life in Massachussett's. There are other's that we will write about throughout the run up to the elections, in particular those" who voted against, before they voted for it" crowd.

The story begins at the Mexican shelters, usually the last stop for northbound migrants, are filling with southbound deportees. Fewer migrants are crossing in the wind-swept deserts along an increasingly fortified border. Far to the north, fields are empty at harvest time as workplace raids become more common.

Bush Says Bill Is Amnesty

On Tuesday President George Bush said what most of the rest of the country already knows, and that is the Immigration Amnesty Bill is indeed amnesty.

Ever since the beginning of the politicians trying to ram a Comprehensive Immigration Bill through Congress, those who opposed this particular piece of legislation said that it amounted to an Amnesty bill. The President was adamant that this was in no way and amnesty bill, and continued to say so until yesterday.

President Bush was talking to a group of immigration overhaul advocates when he said "you know, I've heard all the rhetoric, you've heard it, too, about how this is amnesty...And Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price fr having been here illegally, and this bill DOES that." With a slip of the tongue the truth comes out. Even Bush thinks in his sub-conscience that this is indeed Amnesty. Very telling!

Always the good soldier, White House press secretary Tony Snow issued an unusual statement to correct his boss. He said that he needed to make a correction to what President Bush had said in the morning, and that the President does not think that this is an amnesty bill. He clarified by saying that the comprehensive immigration reform legislation before the Senate in no way offers amnesty to immigrants who came here illegally, and that this is the position that the President has held for a long time.

The spin was quick, but wholly unconvincing to anyone who listens to any of the proponents of the current bill. They can scream at the top of their lungs that it is not an Amnesty Bill, but at the end of the day, it IS an Amnesty Bill.

I bet they keep Bush on a shorter leash from now until the arguments over the bill are finished and the bill has been passed or defeated, because he did not help the proponents' cause by his remarks.

An Answer To Mccain's Comprehensive Amnesty Bill

I was just watching a newscast that said Manchurian Candidate Senator John Mccain had a town hall meeting in Le Mars, Iowa on Saturday. It sounds like it got pretty heated on the subject of immigration and the Comprehensive Amnesty Bill that Senator Mccain helped craft.
It mentions that he went back and forth with one gentlemen and it got heated with Mccain finally saying that if someone is a critic of his bill then they should step up with a proposal of their own. He states quite categorically that the status quo in not acceptable. Well fine Senator Mccain, but the Amnesty Bill you are trying to push down the American people's throat's is not workable either.
He says that the 1986 Immigration Amnesty Bill which was passed with support of Ronnie "Raygun" Reagan was the bill that legalized illegals without consequences and caused the influx of 12million more illegals, and that his bill will correct the problem.
Now I don't like Mccain, bill or no bill, I find him overbearing and he too often leans on the fact that he was a hero, I mean prisoner in Vietnam. I am still trying to figure out how you can be captured and say bad things about your country,(so Senator, does that mean torture does work), and just because you come back alive it somehow makes you a hero.
Personally, I think they brainwashed him and that is why he is the Manchurian Candidate in this election cycle with his evil overlords hoping he will gain office so they can control the United States government.
Senator Mccain has one new convert as Bill O'Reilly said the other night he thinks this bill is the best bill that can be passed at this time in our country. I completely disagree, because until something drastic is done to stop illegals from coming to this country we will be passing another comprehensive bill to "fix" the problem in 20 more years.
I have always believed it is not the fault of the illegals for coming here to work, it is the businesses who hire them and pretend that they do not know the documents they use are fraudulent who are to blame for all of this mess.
Just the other day we saw how easy it was for the TB traveler to get into this country, so we know Homeland Security is doing a "fine" job of keeping terrorists out. Right!
So they need to pass three separate bills otherwise the politicians will find that someone did not dot an i or cross a t and there will be millions more illegals crossing our unprotected borders after the Amnesty Bill passes.
The first bill would have mandatory punishments for any employer who employs an illegal. Now the current bill has "knowingly" in the wording as a precursor to any sort of employer sanction, mine would not. If you employ an illegal immigrant you will receive a $15,000 fine and spend 10 days in jail, a second offense would cost you $50,000 and 1 year in prison, with no discretion to plead to a lesser charge would be part of the bill as well. As a bonus any illegal who testifies against his or her employer would receive a green card as a gesture of our appreciation in adjudicating these crimes.
After all there will be no problems telling an illegal from a legal worker as part of the current Mccain Amnesty Bill there will be "tamper proof i.d.'s", so we will borrow that idea for our bill. This bill if enforced will stop a bunch of illegals from crossing the border as there will be fewer jobs waiting for them.
The second bill would provide for a border fence and would be manned with guards every 50 yards and would have to be fully funded and completed before the third bill kicks in.
The third bill would allow for a path to citizenship as there would be fewer illegals here with the employer's not hiring them, so a lot would have already gone home. Those that have committed felonies, would be picked up and deported, the other's particularly with children and families would be allowed to start toward a path to citizenship, but with a non-resident visa status first, until all of the people who applied to come here legally are moved through the system. Also they would be able to stay through a guest worker program for now.
I think this could be a set of bills that would set this country toward a workable plan. Maybe someone has something better, but our politicians in Washington do not have our best interests at heart, they are only in it for the bonus voters they hope to bring into their parties.
My earlier rant had me careening toward Buchanansim, and James Eaves-Johnson called me on it,and it set me to thinking. I managed people for over a year that are in the "illegal" category and they became good friends. They were the hardest working and nicest people I had working for me. Now they were already working there when I arrived, so someone in the company had verified their documents, but from getting to know them I came to the obvious conclusion that they were not supposed to be here. Now I believe there should be a path for them to stay, as they are the kind of people who do make a our country a better place. There should not be instant citizenship, but there should be a clear path, from working here as a guest worker to becoming citizens in the future if they choose to do so. I guess mine is an amnesty bill too, but if all items are done in the right order we will not be fixing immigration again in 20 years.
Anyway I have flipped and flopped big time on this emotional issue, because I would like my friends and others like them to able to stay and become Good Americans, just like our immigrant ancestors did.

Illegals Get Violent And No Veto Override

As promised illegals were out protesting our laws and demanding citizenship now! That is correct, they were not asking for citizenship, they were demanding it and in some places like Los Angeles things got violent as they threw bottles and rocks at police and were dealt with accordingly, by police breaking up the rallies and arresting many of the violent illegals.
The rallies were smaller then last year, perhaps because someone noticed that many of the illegals did not have jobs when they went back the day after the rallies last year. They may have also noticed that then citizens of this country were angry that these illegals would flaunt our laws and demand rights they were not deserving of. The only ones who want the illegals here are the politicians who view them as a future voting block, the companies that can exploit the cheap labor and the farmers who could not harvest their crops without the illegals.
The President is trying to show some leadership on this issue now, but it is far too late and far too little. His view is the same as the democrats on this issue, they both want amnesty by any other name and get these new citizens registered as quickly as possible. The only way to get anything accomplished is to do nothing for now. We must get our leaders to enforce current laws before giving away citizenship to everyone like it does not mean anything. As I mentioned before every employer should face jail terms for employing illegals and it should not matter whether they knowingly hired them or not. If their was jail time even for a first time offense these employers would make extra certain that they were not employing illegals. In addition, there should be large rewards offered for anyone who turns in an illegal to authorities. Also all law enforcement from local, state and federal should have as their mandate to arrest all illegals and they should be held until they are deported, no more catch and release policies should be allowed. Any cities that choose to be sanctuary cities should have all state and federal funds cut off, and any state that does not follow suit and cut funds should have all of their federal grants and funds stopped. This is a war and we need to start fighting it on all fronts before they get any stronger a hold on our politicians and our economy.
Now on to another immediate issue and that is the funding for the troops bill, which the President vetoed and I just saw the House of Representatives did not have enough votes to override the veto. So now perhaps the Mullahs Reid and Pelosi can stop catering to their Al-Queda supporters and try and take care of the young men and women who are fighting and dying for these ungrateful assholes. Pass a bill funding the troops without any of your defeatist come running home timetables or pork that is for your supporters back home. Just pass the damn bill that they need and fight with the President over bringing the troops home in another forum. It should not be on the backs of our brave troops.
Anyone with any sensibility or compassion for our young men and women fighting in Iraq needs to put pen to paper or email or call their representatives in both houses of Congress and send a very serious message that we want this taken care of and done so without anymore showboating or sending veto bound bills, when these troops are already feeling the pain of war . It is not right and should be allowed to continue any longer than it already has taken.
It still gets me that these supposed leaders can give aid and comfort to the enemy and not suffer any consequences whatsoever. How can this happen in our country which has fought so hard for the rights of people around the world to have such gutless leaders in these positions of power. I find offense every time they utter a word about how they are trying to help the troops in their own way. They say it so often I think they believe it, but we know that it is just so much bullshit. They even said the other day that this would lead to them gaining more seats in the next election. If this is only about seats and elections it is a very sad day for our country. There was a time when leaders did what was right not just expedient to play to the worst in our people, but to the best. Those days are long gone and it will be the death of this once great nation. Destroyed internally by the very leaders who are supposed to protect her. I am ashamed of these fellow americans and wish they would hang with their fellow travelers in the caves of Afghanistan, or the secret hiding places of their Al-Queda cohorts in Iraq and Iran. Please stop portraying what you are doing as being patriotic, it is anything but patriotic and is more accurately sedition and treason and you shall someday be judged for your words and actions to assist our enemies.
I hope that the President can find someway to get enough of the house of representatives and the Senators in the Senate to bring forth a pure funding bill which can be passed and signed quickly and after that have a real dialogue with them about how and when our troops can leave with at least some chance for the Iraqi people to have a legitimate government and something close to peace with their fellow citizens. It will be rough, but we should give them every opportunity to have some semblance of a normal life. We could then leave with dignity and respect and perhaps with a friend in that region of the world. They deserve this one last chance at stabilization and we should be proud of what we have done to foster democracy, even if it is not our type of democracy. In a part of the world that does not know that word it will be nice if they can get together for the betterment of their whole country and can be an example for others.

The Fraud of Immigration Reform

The President gave a speech yesterday concerning immigration and the need to pass some type of comprehensive legislation to deal with the issue of illegals and what we can do to slow the numbers arriving each day.
This was once important to President Bush, but members of his own party saw his approach as advocating amnesty. I know that everyone says they do not want amnesty, but all of the bills deal with the rights of the illegals over the rights of american workers. Until we stop the illegals from coming across the border first, there can be no legislation that will do anything other than make more rules that the illegals will ignore. They know that many politicians are ready right now to make them full citizens as they vie for their future votes.
We really need to get a grip on our borders and not do anything to assist the government of Mexico to export its’ people to the United States, so they can work and send home Billions to Mexico. Mexico is very disingenuous on this matter as they have armed troops on their own souther border and shoot and kill illegals trying to cross their borders from central and south america. So to let the Mexicans control this debate is ludicrous and we need to wake up and get something serious done before Aztlan becomes a reality. For those who may not know it Aztlan is supposedly the area of the southwest which rightfully belongs to the Mexicans as this article from wikipedia explains:

Therefore with this type of background you can see why many of the illegals believe they have a right to break our laws. My biggest complaint is not with the people who come here illegally to find work and take care of their families. They are just doing what it takes to survive. The fault is entirely on the politicians in this country and in Mexico, who do not take a strong stand and stop all illegal immigration. They and well as companies small and large that hire illegals with a wink and a nod are the true culprits. It is also ridiculous to allow people who are born here, even though illegal to receive full citizenship which then allows their parents to stay, because they are babies. This may have been important in the beginning of this country to make it grow, but now is just one more in a whole series of loopholes to remain here illegally. We must shut the loopholes and take this matter seriously before we cannot stop the inevitable minimization of our own rights to cater to the illegals who grow in numbers and boldness everyday.
We will see another May 1st walkout in many areas of the country as the illegals show just how integral they are to the running of many of our industries from agriculture to restaurants to factories. I personally have seen just how much these illegals have contributed to keeping restaurants running. They have increased their numbers exponentially in just the last five years. I managed a restaurant in 2001-2004 and there was some illegals , but went back to managing a restaurant in 2006 until last month and they are now quickly becoming the main labor force, even in a or should I say primarily in chinese restaurants. They come in and know people already working and may not have a social security card and they come back a few days later and they have one. The industry looks the other way and does so by saying “they showed me a social security card and proper i.d. and I am not a law enforcement officer, so how can I know they are not legal>” This is where the government needs to get tougher and tell the employers, you may not be law enforcement officers, but you better be real sure, because we shall prosecute you and not just fine you, but jail time will be you lot as well. The knowledge of going to jail would have a bigger impact than facing paying a fine as they see that as just the cost of doing business with cheap labor.
Let’s wake up America, President Bush nor the Democrats in Congress looking our for our best interests. Bush has always been an amnesty now kind of guy, and the Democrats see Illegals as their next base of support if they make amnesty possible as quickly as possible. Watch the marches and walkouts May 1st and be aware of the coming tide that will sweep this country away from us if we do not act and make our politcians know how we feel. We shall write more on this in the coming weeks.
