Sad Update On Utah Mine Search

In a sad change of direction is less than a week, it is being reported that the search for the Utah coal miners is being suspended. This just days after promises were given to the families that the search would go on until the miners were found.

For nearly four weeks a mining community in central Utah held out hope that six men trapped in a coal mine cave-in would be found alive. That hope is gone now that federal mine officials have suspended the search for the men.

How devastating to the families. They haven't even finished checking all of the holes, but the robot camera somehow got stuck some 50 ft. from the top of hole four, and that is when they decided to end the search.

These poor families have been jerked one way and then another throughout this ordeal, and they deserve more respect than these officials are giving them. We can only hope that they reconsider this a second time, because just drilling holes and checking is not endangering anymore lives, it is merely costing more money, and that may be the true cause of the suspension. How sad that money, is always more important than the lives of miners, or peace of mind and closer for the families.

A very sad update indeed!
