Quarter Of Brits Believe Churchill Is A Myth
We'll start the week out with a little humor, after all the weather gods amused us with 8 inches of snow yesterday, and we woke up to thunder, lightning, and temperatures heading for 40 degrees today!!
So on to a bit of humor from the English:
Britons are losing their grip on reality, according to a poll out Monday which showed that nearly a quarter think Winston Churchill was a myth while the majority reckon Sherlock Holmes was real.
The survey found that 47 percent thought the 12th century English king Richard the Lionheart was a myth. And 23 percent thought World War II prime minister Churchill was made up. The same percentage thought Crimean War nurse Florence Nightingale did not actually exist.
It would be interesting to see if they did a poll here in America, how many of us would confuse real, and fictional heroes of our country!!?
