Wifi Is Back And Troops In Iraq Into 2009
Praise god or whatever deity is in charge of the wi-fi signal, as this is the first time since Monday that it has been available. I was seriously thinking that it was gone forever, but everyday I attempted to go online throughout the day, and this evening, ta da, it was back!! I do not know how long this good fortune will last, so I shall try and hit on the most important items first. There are so many big stories the last few days, but Ambassador Crockers top diplomat announcing that troops are in Iraq through 2009 seems the biggest at the moment. Thanks!!
Obviously, this first story IS Important to anyone who thought that the troops were coming home anytime soon, no matter who is in office next year, as McCain or Romney would be slower, and Obama or Clinton a little quicker, but it would not be immediate as many are hoping.
President Bush's top diplomat in Iraq said Friday that the U.S. plans to keep combat troops there into 2009, seen as the tipping point for establishing the nation's long-term security, and he offered no deadline for a full withdrawal.
Ambassador Ryan Crocker told The Associated Press that he can't make any promises if, as the Democratic candidates have signaled, the next president pulls forces out faster or in greater numbers.
There has been more violence in recent days, with the two women homicide bombers killing so many, but the overall surge had been succeeding to a pretty large extent, and if the Iraqi government would use this success, there could be something accomplished before it is too late!! I apologize for any jumbled words as I am just trying to get "it" online before I lose this connection again! Thank You and perhaps tomorrow will be better, and brighter for us all.
